EuroSTAR Software Testing Report 2014

EuroSTAR PAST LogoPractices & Attitudes in Software Testing (PAST) is an independent study of how software testing professionals in Europe undertake their testing practices, examining how they currently approach testing and how they feel about the future development of their profession. Since the study was launched at EuroSTAR Conference 2013 in Gothenburg more than 600 software testing practitioners and managers from the European software testing community have completed an initial survey examining selected software testing practices and attitudes. This 15 question online survey was the initial phase of a comprehensive, multi-year PAST Study.

EuroSTAR PAST Study

In November, EuroSTAR published the findings of the first phase study. Questions in the survey examined where testing and test automation was addressed in the life cycle, what testing certifications and qualifications were held and their perceived value and whether testing costs and value were effectively tracked and reported. Data included respondent age, job title and category, annual salary and years of experience in the current job and in software or testing.

The Report has now been published and can be downloaded here.

All recipients of the Phase One Report will be invited to participate in Phase Two of the PAST Study in 2015.
